Lisa Thaxton

I am excited to join the St. Thomas More family as one of the 3rd-grade teachers. I have been in education for 10 years, first as an instructional assistant, then as a classroom teacher. Next year will be my fifth year as a teacher. I have previously taught second grade at St. Bernadette (where I attended school!) and first grade at St. Ambrose, where I implemented the dual language program in my classroom.

I hold a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Teacher Education in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education from the University of Lynchburg. I also have a M.Ed. with a cognate in Special Education from Liberty University. In addition, I also hold a Graduate Certificate in Autism Education and a Graduate Certificate in School Leadership, and a Career Studies Certificate in American Sign Language. I look forward to meeting everyone in August!
