As part of our initiative to better support our students and teachers, I will be focusing on a specific social-emotional learning topic each month.
September’s topic is Emotional Regulation.
I have prepared 30-minute mini-lessons for each grade level in which I introduce the concept of emotional regulation and teach one or two strategies to increase competency, such as identifying and naming feelings, understanding and interpreting body cues appropriately identifying the size of the problem versus the size of our reaction, practicing mindfulness, and effective problem solving.
I look forward to sharing these helpful strategies with our students.
