The St. Thomas More Band traveled to Busch Gardens, Williamsburg for the Music in the Parks Festival this past Friday, May 5.
The advanced band performed in a competition at Heritage High School in New Port News, Virginia. Later that day, in Busch Gardens, the STM band was awarded 1st place with a Superior rating and received a trophy to commemorate the occasion.
Congratulations to our students and their parents for making this available this year, it brings the group together in a fun and musically rewarding day. A big thanks to all of the STM faculty for their help on band days throughout the school year.
Both the beginners and the advanced band students will end the year with a concert on Thursday, May 25th in the school gym. Again, another great job with the youngest group ever entering a festival such as this.
