Molly Bremer, RD
Ms. Bremer is a local dietician with a private practice in Arlington. Last week the STM middle school students got to hear from Ms. Bremer about balanced snack and meal choices, with an emphasis on macronutrients like protein, carbohydrates, and fats. Ms. Bremer's focus is on Health at Every Size (HAES) approach, and she provided the students with some great recommendations for social media accounts that provide healthy ideas about nutrition and body image. Ms. Bremer's practice information is available here.
"Please Don't Touch That"
From kindergarteners touching "itchy" eyes, to seventh graders licking their palms and swiping them on each other, it seems our student body could use some reminders about generally not touching our body's mucous membranes (eyes, nose, mouth, etc.) with unclean hands. Mrs. Burnside and Mrs. Crawford find themselves saying "please take your hands out of your mouth" to students of all ages. Please remind your child(ren) that our hands are powerful vehicles for germs and putting them in our mouths and eyes increases the chance we will get sick, especially with a tummy bug!
