It has finally happened, the St. Thomas More Advanced Band will be playing a concert. Yes, that's right, it has been 2 years since any concerts, and a number of our older band students have been waiting a long time for this. The band will travel to Lancaster, Pennsylvania to Elizabethtown College for an adjudicated performance in the High Note Music Festival. This program is designed to provide a place to play, and it just happens to be a beautiful college auditorium, and linked to a short trip over to Hershey Park to enjoy the rest of the day. In the old days, these trips were taken each year to similar events and locations, however things slowed down with travel restrictions. The travel date is Friday, May 20th, and our brave chaperones and band students will have to load the bus at 5:45 A.M. in the morning in order to get to their performance. I don't think they are complaining about the early take-off time because they know what is coming after the concert. Best of luck to our traveling musicians with their performance and park trip. Yeah, Chocolate Town here we come!
