My name is Carol Bonilla and I am the Spanish Teacher for grades 4-8. I am originally from Nicaragua, and grew up in Guatemala. I have been teaching Spanish at STM since 2004. I have been a member of the STM community since 2000 when my children started here as students. Since then my kids have both graduated from college and are working professionals.
I attended Texas A&M University and received my Bachelor's of Business Administration in Marketing. I spent a few years in the corporate world and subsequently found a passion for teaching.I have enjoyed finding creative ways to keep students engaged in the lessons with fun activities such as Conjugation Madness, a Restaurant field trip during the food lessons, skits, fashion shows, and the Spanish Class lunch where each student brings in a dish from a Spanish-speaking country to share.

One of my passions is traveling and I bring back a souvenir for my office each time I visit a new city.
I'm a huge Nationals fan!
Over quarantine, I have found a big love for puzzles, and I learned how to drive a boat!
