My name is Emily Sheckels, and I am originally from Fredericksburg, VA. I currently live in Alexandria, VA. I attended Mary Washington College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Master of Science in Elementary Education. Following college, I taught at Anne E. Moncure Elementary School in Stafford, Virginia. After six years at public school, I moved to Arlington, VA. Since Fall of 2013, I have been a teacher at St. Thomas More School. I have a Virginia Teaching License for grades PK-6, with teaching experience in first and second grades and tutoring experience in grades K-8.
My latest teaching adventure is 4th grade! With new science topics, amazing books, and endless possibilities for projects, I am excited to share a love of learning with my students!
Professionally, I enjoy learning about technology, STEM, the arts, and how to incorporate these subjects into our curriculum. I share my students' love for robots and Legos! Personal interests include music, art, reading, and spending time with my doggie roommate.
