My name is Susan Gonzalez Stockton. I was born in San Jose, Costa Rica. I have a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Central University in San Jose, Costa Rica. Educating children is my passion and a field where I aim to make a difference in the lives of small children to young adults.
It is a blessing and honor to start the school year as a Pre Kindergarten teacher/director at St. Thomas More Cathedral School. This is my first year as a director and I prior to that I worked as Kindergarten teacher for 2 years and Prekindergarten teacher for 5 years. In addition, I taught English as a second language. Spanish is my first language so during the 2004-2005 school year, I served as the school-based substitute at Francis Scott Key/Escuela Key elementary in Arlington, Virginia. I attended the school every day and organized various activities in the school. I also previously taught in the Alexandria City public school system and qualified to teach in the Fairfax County Public School system.
Prekindergarten is an incredible year of growth for students. They not only grow physically but socially, academically and most importantly spiritually. I love teaching, it is such a huge part of me, and I cannot really imagine doing anything else. I am glad to be part of your child’s school year journey!
