I hope everyone is having a great summer and has had a chance to get out and get active!! While I don't have any concrete details at this point, I am very hopeful we will have a return to a more traditional CYO program this coming school year. I will keep you posted as information becomes available from the Diocese.
For those new to STM, we offer year-round sports programs through CYO, which is run by the parish (meaning this is not a school program, limited to STM - St Isadore and CCD student athletes are eligible to participate). All are welcome - no tryouts, no experience, no skill level requirements!! CYO offers the following sports programs for student athletes in grades 3-8:
- Tennis (September-October)
- Cross Country (September-early November)
- Basketball (late November-early March)
- Track (March-May)
- Volleyball - girls only for now... (March-May)
Announcements will be made when it is time to register your child(ren) as the sports teams open up. Look for more information towards the end of the month on the fall sports. And stop by the info booth at Thrilling Thursday!
If you have an interest in coaching any of these sports, please email the CYO Commissioner (that's me...for now...read on for more on that) at [email protected] with your interest. No experience is required - just a love of the sport(s), a passion for instilling that into our student athletes, and completion of the VIRTUS compliance program.
COMMISSIONER ANNOUNCEMENT:
This coming school year will be my last, as my youngest child will be graduating in May 2022. I've served in the role since 2018 and it's been incredibly rewarding. I am seeking the next Commissioner to come on board this fall in the hopes of providing a full year transition. If you are interested, please email me asap! [email protected]
GO ROYALS!
