2021-2022 Health Paperwork Requirements

You probably noticed that there was a flurry of emails from Magnus this week reminding you about health paperwork for the fall. I thank you for your patience as we iron out the frequency and nature of the reminders. If you are not returning to STM, you can ignore these messages, and they will go away when your file is archived in mid June.

If you ARE returning to STM, these are reminders to schedule appointments with your allergists and specialists for any "special" paperwork you have on file at STM (medication authorization forms, allergy/inhaler forms, diabetes forms, etc.). It usually takes a fair amount of time to get this paperwork together, and due to our early school year start, we are collecting paperwork a bit earlier in the summer. Students who do not have all paperwork (health and academic) turned in by August 23 will be turned away from attending school until the file is complete. 

 

State law has changed, and students entering Kindergarten are now required to have a Hepatitis A vaccine series complete prior to starting Kindergarten, and the first in their meningococcal vaccine series prior to starting seventh grade. If your student is neither starting K nor 7th in the fall, there is no additional vaccine requirement for this upcoming school year.

I am sure many of you have questions about the Covid vaccine and our student body, especially with the news that children 12 and up will soon have access to the Covid-19 vaccine. For the time being, we plan to collect this information in your child's Magnus account, as having been vaccinated may correlate with different parameters for quarantine in some cases this fall. This is a rapidly evolving situation and the RAMP Committee is continuing to monitor how a partially vaccinated student population might change some policies for the fall. At this time STM does not require students nor adult staff to be vaccinated against Covid-19.
